The British School Istanbul is comprised of 3 main school campuses; the international school, the national school, and the STEAM school. The International School in Zek houses the Secondary school and the Primary and preschool Forest school, The National School is housed at an annex building at the same site. The STEAM school is for preschool and primary school-aged students and is housed at the city-based campus in Eitler.
The STEAM campus runs classes for students aged between 2 years and 11 years, covering a British style of education as a Cambridge school. The standard of learning is based on the Cambridge curriculum and England’s National Curriculum.
We follow the Cambridge curriculum for English, Mathematics, and Science, which we consider to be our core subject areas. In addition to this, we follow the Cambridge curriculum for Digital Literacy (Information, Communication, and Technology)
We follow the National Curriculum for Art, the topics of history and geography, PE, and Music.
Our students are taught English, maths, science, and topic by their classroom teacher while specialist teachers teach PE, Music, and digital literacy(ICT). In addition to this students learn about research and library skills with our Librarian.
Additional support is offered to students in English as a Second Language. Our learning support team works closely with teachers, families, and external services to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning.
